Little old me
I’m a self-taught independent wildlife and conservation artist from the smallest British county, Rutland. Believe it or not, I’m also a military veteran! I served 12 years in the British Army Medical Corps, before being medically discharged with an eye condition. I felt a little lost for a while, until I gave birth to my animal crazy, son. Being coerced to draw animal cartoons for him every day, soon helped me rediscover my passion for drawing and painting. Over the years I have gradually built my confidence back up to painting highly detailed wildlife art, and the rest as they say is history!
I create the details of my paintings direct from my imagination, trying to capture the beauty of skin and fur within my subject, and personifying them on canvas.
I work entirely in acrylics, creating highly detailed and characterful wildlife paintings to help support conservation efforts, whether big or small. My paintings represent the respect and wonder that I feel myself, towards these incredible animals; capturing their individual nature and the fragility of each animal that I paint, in an attempt to inspire the observer to help them in their plight.
